James Turrell's "Gard Blue"  has been my phone background for nearly a decade. ​​Over time, I've come to associate this blue glow with the tiny dopamine rush of a phone notification. I find myself regularly doing a double-take when a perfectly ultramarine bottle of sunscreen or bag of pita chips catches my eye. I've been steadily photographing these objects whenever this accidental pavlovian reaction occurs, and making paintings from these photographs. This series is in progress.
